Musique latine🪇💃
L’ensemble latino-montréalais El Balcón est un collectif qui compose et arrange comme un seul. Les membres du groupe se sont réunis avec un amour commun pour la musique traditionnelle du monde entier 🎵 et un désir d’explorer de nouvelles possibilités en matière de son et de groove acoustique.
Ce groupe prolifique a commencé par réaliser des arrangements créatifs d’airs traditionnels du Mexique, d’où est originaire la chanteuse Valeria Del Marre. Il a évolué vers la composition originale et une musique innovante qui garde toujours l’esprit acoustique de la musique traditionnelle qui l’inspire. Les instruments folkloriques mexicains comme le jarana, le reguinto et la tarima (pied de polyrythmie pour danses rythmiques traditionnelles) se mêlent aux mélodies microtonales de l’Orient, au violon 🎻 et au oud. Le tout appuyé par la touche terreuse d’une contrebasse et un éventail de percussions magistrales, dont le cajon, le riqq, le pandeiro et la quijada del burro (os de mâchoire d’âne).
⛈En cas de mauvais temps ou de chaleur accablante, les spectacles seront présentés au centre communautaire Sarto-Desnoyers.

Latin music🪇💃
Montreal-based Latin ensemble, El Balcón, is a collective that composes and arranges as one. They came together with a common love for traditional music from around the world 🎵 and a desire to explore new possibilities in acoustic sound and groove.
This prolific group began by making creative arrangements of traditional tunes from Mexico, where lead singer Valeria Del Marre comes from. They have evolved to composing original and innovative music that still keeps the acoustic spirit of the traditional music that inspires them. Mexican folk instruments like the jarana, reguinto, and tarima (polyrhythm foot board for traditional rhythmic dancing) blend with microtonal melodies of the east on the violin, 🎻 and oud. All of this is grounded with the earthy touch of an upright bass and an array of masterful percussion including the cajon, riqq, pandeiro, and quijada del burro (donkey jaw bone).
⛈In the event of poor weather or extreme heat, performances will be held at the Sarto-Desnoyers Community Centre.
